Abstract Since current Information Systems (IS) become more complicated and ICT is used in most of businesses, "Systems Failure" causes a serious damage for our daily life once it occures. Based on this background, highly-dependable systems are focused on in many fields in artificial physical systems and even human activity systems. In this paper, we discuss on the role of formal methods in Information Systems Development and it will be discussed whether formal methods can solve those problems.
