Abstract In this paper, we have investigated differences between the case where learners looked presentation of information being written as if on a blackboard and one where learners were simply presented the final form of information by subjective assessment and eye tracker gaze analysis. We have found that there are characteristic patterns between the eye movements and subjective assessment of learners. There are differences of eye movement among those who appreciate that presentation of writing process is useful and those who do not. Based on experimental results, we have discussed contribution of sequential presentation of the writing process to learners’ constitutive understanding.
