Abstract Recently, many cases of PC tendon ruptures have been reported, and there is a need for more advanced methods to evaluate the load capacity of PC at rupture. When a PC tendon ruptures, stress redistribution due to prestress loss may influence the load capacity of the PC. In this research, PC tendon rupture experiments using core drilling were conducted on PC beams with different PC tendon-grout bond conditions to evaluate the possibility of stress redistribution and the influence of bond conditions on stress redistribution and strain change in the member. In addition, loading experiments and loading analysis were conducted on PC beams with ruptured tendons to evaluate the influence of stress redistribution on load capacity.
