Polyether-ester thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) comprising crystalline polyester as the hard segment andamorphous polyether as the soft segment possess superior heat resistance and mechanical durability comparedwith polyurethane elastomers. In the high-speed melt spinning of TPEs, stress-induced crystallization of the hardsegment occurs in the spinning process. The aim of the present investigation is to elucidate the mechanism offiber structure development in the melt spinning process of TPEs through the on-line measurement of thespinning behavior and analyses of the structure and property of the as-spun fibers. Particular attention was paidfor the effect of the selection of different soft segment.
