This paper reports on the recent progress of the ‘Replacement of Neanderthals by Modern Humans’ lithic industry database (Neander DB) in terms of data collection and metadata reorganisation. To date, Neander DB has recorded a total of 376 lithic industries from 1,977 sites in Africa and Eurasia. An increasing number of records have led us to recognise inter-regional inconsistencies in the terminology of lithic industries and periodization. Hence, the metadata structure was reviewed and the relationships between site, lithic industry, and period were revised. This alteration allows accurate retrieval of attributes to map the spatio-temporal pattern of the ‘replacement’ events.
