We report our recent studies on selective oxidation systems with mol. oxygen as the sole oxidant based on crystalline simple and mixed metal oxides. Nanostructure controlled hexagonal perovskite oxides and ﾎｲ-type manganese dioxide could act as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for C-H activation of alkanes and alkylarenes, oxygen transfer reaction to heteroatoms, and biomass conversion.
