アブストラクト
We have developed a 50kg class microsatellite "HIBARI". The mission of this satellite is to demonstrate a novel attitude control method for microsatellites which is called “Variable Shape Attitude Control (VSAC).” VSAC is a method using antitorque caused by driving structures such as solar array paddles. HIBARI has four drivable solar array paddles and was launched by the Epsilon rocket in November 2021 under JAXA's “Innovative Satellite Technology Demonstration Program”. This paper describes the HIBARI mission overview, system overview, and ground tests at Flight Model (FM). The soundness of the system was confirmed in the vibration test, impact test, mass property measurement, and thermal vacuum test. To confirm the validity of the attitude algorithm and the system feasibility, we have developed the attitude dynamics simulator HiLS, including actual hardware components. The attitude control test using HiLS showed the problems of attitude control in the initial sequence and the effectiveness of the counter-measure. We also showed that HIBARI can perform agile attitude maneuver of 30deg/10s and a stable pointing control of 300arcsec/10s, which are part of Extra Success.
