和文:代数幾何学に基づく学習理論を創出し構造を持つ確率モデルの統計的推測の挙動を解明しました。理論の帰結として得られる新しい情報量規準は実用の場で世界的に使われています。 
英文:Based on algebraic geometry, new learning theory was established, which clarified statistical behavior of layered models. New information criteria which were devised using this theory are now being used in many real world problems.
