Abstract
Size-controlled synthesis of hydroxyapatite nanorods was carried out by chem. pptn. method using citric acid sodium dodecyl sulfate and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate as org. modifiers and starting from calcium nitrate phosphoric acid and ammonia soln. The crystallinity of the resultant hydroxyapatite increased with increasing the autoclaving temp. The particle sizes of the resultant HAP nanorods varied with the presence of the different structured org. modifiers and the synthetic temp. The interaction between the anions of the modifiers and the hydroxyapatite crystallites controlled the crystal growth.
