Abstract
This paper provides channel models for wireless body area networks (WBANs) in frequency bands of 400MHz, 600MHz, 900MHz, 2.4GHz, and ultra wideband (UWB). The channel models are derived from measured data on the channel transfer function in an indoor hospital room. The frequency bands except the UWB band have path loss model, which provides path loss in a channel corresponding to the distance between a transmitter and receiver. On the other hand, both path loss and power delay profile (PDP) models are derived for the UWB band since we observed the UWB band in multipath rich channels. The obtained channel models are applicable into performance evaluation on the WBAN communication links.
