Abstract We have proposed and experimentally demonstrated a novel virus sensing method by electrical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in a nanogap electrode to identify individual viruses comprehensively. We analyzed the measured data by electrical equivalent circuit modeling, by extracting the resistance and the capacitance information from the experimental data using the equivalent circuit. The result of EIS in nanogap electrode is still primitive, however it was successfully demonstrated the virus sensing by the proposed method.
