Abstract In this study, we measure vibrational temperature Tv and rotational temperature Tr of CO b 3Σ+ state, which was observed for the transition to the a 3Πr state as the third positive system in a microwave discharge CO2 plasma when a rare gas is mixed with CO2. When the mixture ratio of Kr gas becomes high, the vibrational temperature increases higher than other rare gases.
