Abstract It is important to ensure robustness and availability of information infrastructures against disasters and faults. There are many technologies of distribution and redundancy, but most of them do not provide practical validation methods on faults. We propose a platform to evaluate disaster tolerance and fault resistance of distributed systems with an SDN technology emulating artificial disasters and faults. In this paper, we introduce a design and its implementation of the platform, and then also show the effectiveness of the platform through evaluation experiments on it.
