Abstract Network embedding is a method to convert nodes in a network into low dimensional vectors. Most of existing works are designed for single-layer networks, however, real world networks are often represented as multiplex networks. Thus, we propose a novel embedding method for multiplex networks, named MELL, which incorporates layer vectors that capture layer connectivity. The experimental results of link prediction tasks show that MELL outperforms all of the existing methods.
