Abstract
In recent years, the need for skeletal muscle has been increasing in the field of regenerative medicine.
Skeletal muscle constructed in vitro is useful muscle model for drug screening. Also, skeletal muscle
transplantation is expected to be treatment for various diseases. However, artificial skeletal muscle tissue has a
smaller contraction rate and development power than living tissue. To solve this problem, magnetic
nanoparticles such as magnetite are being used to manipulate cells remotely using an external magnetic field.
In this study, a magnetic field is applied to myoblasts incorporating magnetic nanoparticles to control their
density and shape.
