Abstract We report our recent studies on selective oxidation systems with mol. oxygen as the sole oxidant based on crystalline simple and mixed metal oxides. Nanostructure controlled hexagonal perovskite oxides and ﾎｲ-type manganese dioxide could act as efficient heterogeneous catalysts for C-H activation of alkanes and alkylarenes, oxygen transfer reaction to heteroatoms, and biomass conversion.
