Abstract In recent years, high-voltage DC (HVDC) transmission systems have attracted attention as a method of transmitting power from offshore wind power plants to onshore AC grid. The authors has already proposed a method that enables continuous operation of wind power plants under a pole-to-ground fault on a bipolar HVDC system. Then, this paper proposes operation procedure and control method for returning to steady state after the aforementioned operation. The proposed method is verified by computer simulations.
