アブストラクト The magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami that hit the north-eastern coastal regions of Japan on 11 March 2011 caused immense damages to their residents, social infrastructure, and cultural heritage. The whole picture has not yet been fully grasped, because (1) the lack of necessary resources and means makes it difficult for local cultural heritage management officers to gain access to the heritages and inspect their conditions first hand and (2) the immensity of the devastated areas and their complex topographical settings, small coastal plains surrounded by steep hills and mountains, make information-gathering extremely hard. In order to protect endangered cultural properties amidst such difficulties we not only have to mobilize most advanced methods and techniques available but also organize a network of experienced and motivated individuals who can take full advantage of them. For this purpose, we, including archaeologists, historians, and cultural resource management (CRM) officers, are making preparations, by using online social media such as Facebook and Twitter, for the establishment of the “Consortium for Earthquake-Damaged Cultural Heritage” (CEDACH). This poster presents the agenda of the consortium and its data-management team working for the creation of a computing system for the mining, the analysis, and the management of information on the damaged cultural properties. We welcome any suggestions and supports from international colleagues at the CAA.
