The aim of this morphological study is to clarify the adopting methods of daylight from skylight in the worship space of the contemporary religious buildings built after 1950s. First, referring to the traditional spatial format in the worship space, such as “basilica type” or “centralized temple type”, the planer form of the spaces are analyzed by symmetry and proportion of the plans and sectional forms are analyzed by the location of top of the ceiling in the plan as seen from the central line of plans. Second, the arrangement of skylights are analyzed as seen from the zoning of chancel and nave that describe the relationship of the god and people in the plans, and sectional arrangement in the ceiling as seen from the position of skylight in the ceiling and the sectional form of skylights. Finally, 6 types of adopting methods of daylight methods from skylight are suggested by the relationship between the form of worship space and arrangement of skylight to direct the relationship among the god, clergyman and believer.
