The aim of this study is to clarify the spatial integration design in contemporary art museums by superimposing the compositional character and the superficial character. Firstly, we regard the arrangement relation among unit spaces of museum as “Rooms Layout”, and analyze the compositional character of spatial integration. Secondly, we regard the arrangement relation among finishes on the spatial component faces as “Finishes Layout”, and analyze the superficial character of spatial integration. The result of superposing and examining these “Rooms Layout” and “Finishes Layout” elicited 11 major types of spatial integration design in contemporary art museums.
