This paper presents a case study of virtual experiments on control engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2020. Although the COVID-19 restricts teachers to lecture to students in conventional methods, experiments with real systems are essential for beginners leaning control engineering. Instead of real experiments, combined use of experiment videos and a simulator provided students with good experiences: the videos show actual behaviors, while the specialized simulator gives chances for trial and error in tuning controller gains as real experiments do. The proposed lecture form had received high
evaluations from students.
