In recent years, offshore wind power generation has attracted attention. In such case, HVDC system becomes a candidate for the power transmission system connecting the offshore wind power plants and the onshore AC grid. This paper focuses on the bipolar HVDC system, and proposes the system configuration and control method that allows offshore wind power plants to continue their operations under a pole-to-ground fault. Then, simulation verifies the validity of the proposed method, and confirms that the proposed method can contribute to the improvement of the supply
reliability.
