Triplet–triplet annihilation (TTA) can double the energy of
excited states. We utilized a charge transfer state at an organic
semiconductor interface as a precursor for efficient TTA. As a
result, a solid‐state photon upconversion from near‐infrared to
visible light is achieved with an efficiency that is two orders of
magnitude higher than those demonstrated by conventional
systems. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that an efficient organic
light‐emitting diode (OLED) can be operated by only a 1.5 V
battery.
