| 和文: | 本研究では、日米の初年次教育や初年次学生への大学の働きかけの違いを比較するため、理工系研究大学に所属する学生10名（日米それぞれ5名づつ）に対して同一質問項目を使い、各自の大学初年次の経験につき、インタビューを行った。国別の比較では、課外活動の経験が、日本より米国の学生の方が経験している活動の数が多いという結果になった。 |
| 英文: | In this study, in order to compare the differences in first-year education and the university's approach to first-year students in Japan and the United States, we asked 10 students belonging to science and technology research universities (five each in Japan and the United States) to conduct the same research. Using the questionnaire, we interviewed each of them about their experiences in their first year at university. When compared by country, the number of extracurricular activities experienced by American students was higher than that of Japanese students. |
