Abstract The impact of the COVID-19 requires us to take the students’ practical experiments online. The authors developed a line-tracer simulator with MATLAB framework that enables students to practice simulated experiments at home. The simulator is designed to replicate real-world experiences as much as possible by implementing noise, visualizing the behavior, and unifying the environment. The students commented that the simulator helped them to learn about control in an experimental way even online.
