アブストラクト During observations of GX 301-2 by the Tenma satellite in April 1984, an unusual event was recorded. The 7-20-keV X-ray continuum intensity decreased from 0.037 to 0.0044 counts/sq cm sec while the flourescent iron line intensity in 6.4 keV decreased from 0.0018 to 0.009 counts/sq cm sec. The equivalent width corresponding to the line intensity changed from 0.5 keV to 1.8 keV. The dip lasted about 5 h. These phenomena can be explained by and 'eclipse' of the neutron star by a small-scale object, so that the neutron star and about half of the scattering and the flourescent region surrounding the neutron star were hidden from view.
