Observation of an X-ray pulsation with a period of 437.5 seconds from the X-ray source 4U 1907 + 09 is reported. The observations were carried out using the gas scintillation proportional counter (GSPC) array of the Tenma X-ray astronomy satellite. Analysis of the pulse-arrival time showed that the 8.38-d periodic X-ray modulation observed by Ariel 5 in 4U 1907 + 09 can be regarded as a binary period. An X-ray mass function f(M) of about 9 solar mass was derived, confirming that the optical counterpart of 4U 1907 + 09 is massive. On the basis of the observational results, it is demonstrated that 4U 1907 + 09 is an X-ray pulsar.
