Recently, there has been an increasing number of offi ces incorporating plants in their interior spaces as a biophilic design approach. This study aims to clarify the characteristics of placemaking by examining the coexistence of plants and people at the entrance spaces of lower floors of large-scale offi ce buildings in central Tokyo. From 44 building cases, 443
Plant Units and 71 Green Areas were extracted, and classified into eight Green Area Patterns based on the amount ofgreenery, seating arrangements, and their connection with outdoor environments. The result fi nds Indoor Green and Placemaking typologies and their tendentious aspects.
